Hello to all at Velvet Peanut Butter. I was quite happy to see Velvet offered at my local Meijer store, and bought a jar for myself and my mother and dad. Velvet Peanut Butter takes me back to the late ‘60’s, when I rode with my mother in the car to pick my dad up from work. As we would approach the Velvet Peanut Butter facility, mom would say, “O.k., roll the window down!” and I would crank the window down and inhale the wonderful aroma of roasting peanuts! Back then, I never thought it was quite fair that I was able to smell the delicious peanuts roasting, but no one was at the roadside with samples!! Velvet was a staple at our house, as mom always preferred its taste and texture. Anyway, I am now able to once again enjoy that wonderful Velvet Peanut Butter, and it magically transports me back to a simpler time. Best Regards, Roberta B. Rochester, Michigan

I remember growing up on Velvet peanut butter. It was the peanut butter of choice at my house and my grandparent’s house. We used to go there every weekend and every lunch was always Velvet peanut butter sandwich on Wonder bread. Grandpa used to do a semi-weird Velvet, bologna, on raisin bread combo. As a side note to this, my grandpa just turned 84 last week and we included a jar of Velvet in his goodie basket, and he was surprised to see it after so long. My mom used to buy Velvet in the plastic tub with the handle, and besides us eating the peanut butter, mom used to bake cookies with Velvet, and make that….not sure what it was called, but the peanut butter balls where you take the confection sugar and roll the peanut butter with it…know how to make it, can’t remember name of it, but anyways, we would go through the plastic tub pretty quick, so mom would rinse out the tubs, and we’d have them all over for sand box use, for storing crayons, and my sister still has 1 or 2 of the tubs with little plastic animals stored in it. When I saw that Velvet was back, I immediately bought 5 jars, gave one to a coworker who likes the old favorites, and I have already gone through 1, cracked open another, and not only have I spread the word to coworkers - 2 of which have already gone out and picked up jars, I have also introduced my 8 year old to the Velvet brand, and his first words after he tasted it - “this is the best I have ever tasted”. It has brought back memories of simpler times and family long gone and I will be a customer as long as you make it. Mark K. Center Line, MI

Have you ever tried peanut butter (Velvet of course), jelly of your choice, and Better Made BBQ potato chips (on the sandwich). If not, give it a try, it is really yummy!
2 Slices of Bread Velvet Peanut Butter Jelly Better Made BBQ potato chips
Spread 2 ounces of Velvet Peanut Butter on each slice of bread. Spread 2 ounces of jelly on one slice of bread. Add a genourse layer of Better Made BB chips on top in the jelly. Top the sandwich with the other slice of peanut buttered bread.
…one of my favorite recipes as a child (and an adult BTW).
